The Fijian Affairs Ministry is now awaiting a report on some chiefs allegedly taking a large chunk of lease money and the unfair distribution of lease rent for the landowning units.
Interim Fijian Affairs Minister, Ratu Epeli Ganilau said he is aware that the Fijian Administration Review Team headed by Colonel Apakuki Kurusiga has managed to uncover a number of deals and this will be revealed when the report is publicised.
The interim government is expected to analyse the findings of the review team and make necessary changes to the current Fijian administration structure.
This is in line with one of the President's mandates for the interim administration which is to ensure that benefits flow down to the ordinary Fijians.
