Former chairman of the Great Council of Chiefs Sitiveni Rabuka has raised concern on why the GCC Review Committee led by Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo has to be tasked with the job already undertaken.
After changes in the criteria in the GCC membership which will allow only the installed chiefs in the respective "Vanua" to become members of the new look GCC, the Review Committee has to once again consult the 14 provinces.
According to Rabuka, it will be an unnecessary exercise.
The new chairman of the Review Committee Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo has confirmed the Interim Prime Minister wants the GCC to meet soon after the 14 provincial councils will complete their meeting at the end of May and the message from the Interim Government is clear that only chiefs who have been traditionally installed will be members of the GCC.
The GCC review team will sit tomorrow.
