Market vendors and people going to the Lautoka Market now have free Wi-Fi and can also watch TV after the launch of the free Wi-Fi and digital television initiative.

While speaking at the launch, Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says all markets in Fiji will be connected to free Wi-Fi.

He says the reason they are targeting markets is because it is a hotspot where people get together and interact with each other.

Sayed-Khaiyum says they have also set up 9 television sets throughout the market to allow market vendors to sit and watch programs.

He adds if there is a rugby match going on or a significant event, the market vendors or those coming to the market can enjoy it.
