Former drug users share message of change and faith

Three young men who once lived on the streets and used drugs are now sharing their stories of change and hope as they continue their recovery at the rehabilitation unit at Twomey Hospital in Tamavua.

19-year-old Savu from Lakeba, Lau, 24-year-old Josateki from Ovalau, and Etuate from Cautata shared that it has been a month since they began their rehabilitation journey, and they already feel the difference.

In an interview with fijivillage News, Josateki says they feel lighter, they are no longer coughing, and have no more loss of appetite or loss of breath.

He is encouraging others facing similar struggles to turn to faith and family for strength.

The group also reflected on how poor decisions led them down a difficult path.

Etuate says that now, through the support of the rehabilitation unit, they are determined to rebuild their lives and become examples for others who may be struggling.
