The FMF Flying Fijians made up of young players put up a good performance against Australia in their third Pool B match this morning although they lost by 55 points to 12.
Isoa Neivua and Aca Ratuva scored the only two tries for Fiji while Australia ran in seven tries to secure the top spot in the Pool, setting up a likely quarterfinal against either England or Tonga.
Drew Mitchell scored a hat-trick while Matt Giteau scored two and Adam Ashley Cooper and Stephen Hoiles also crossed the try line.
Speaking to Village sports, FMF Flying Fijians captain Mosese Rauluni said it was a good game but Fiji missed many chances.
Rauluni said there is no major injury concern and they have one day for recovery period before going into the final phase of the training for the Wales clash.
The FMF Flying Fijians final pool match will be against Wales on Sunday at 3am and they must win to reach the quarterfinals.
