Floodwater levels are constantly rising in Sabeto to Waimalika in Nadi as a result of the continuous heavy rain and high ground saturation levels compounded by the high tide this evening.

The Fiji Meteorological Services are advising the general public to limit any unnecessary travel into flooded areas especially at night.

They say this is merely for their safety as more heavy rain is expected tonight.

Meanwhile, a flood warning remains in force for flood-prone areas adjacent and downstream of major rivers of Vanua Levu and Western Viti Levu from Sigatoka to Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua and Rakiraki up to Korovou.

A flood alert remains in force for flood-prone areas adjacent and downstream of Wainibuka, Wainimala, Waidina, Waimanu, Rewa and Navua rivers.
