Flood waters expected to rise in the West
Flood waters are expected to rise in the Western division this afternoon due to continuous heavy rain according to the Community Policing Officers patrolling the areas.

Speaking from Nadi, Inspector Penijamini Vukivou said it is time to act for the residents living in the low lying areas.


In the past four hours, residents of Lautoka have been experiencing continuous heavy downpour.

Special Administrator, Pravin Bala said there is at least one foot of water in parts of Drasa Avenue while one and a half feet of flood water in Bauwalu Street.

Namaka Nadi resident, Hemant Maisuriya said that they have been experiencing heavy rain since last night.

Heavy rain continues in Rakiraki since this morning.

Provincial Administrator Rakiraki, Savenaca Tavaga who is in Nukuloa village is advising people living in the low lying areas in the nearby villages and settlements to take precautions.
