Flood warning in place for Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Lau, Rakiraki and Rewa

A flood warning remains in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and Lau group including areas adjacent and downstream of Rakiraki and Nausori town.

There is still a flood alert in place for low-lying areas adjacent to Wailotua and Nayavu station and areas downstream of Wainibuka river.

A heavy rain warning remains in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and Lau group.

The water level at the Rewa river was 5.49 metres at 7am which is 0.99 metres above warning level and decreasing.

The water level at Rakiraki station was 2.06 metres at 7am which is 0.06 metres above warning level and decreasing.

The tropical depression was located 270 kilometres south of Nadi at 4 this morning.

The weather office says it has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone over Fiji waters.
