A flood warning is in force for all low‑lying areas in Fiji as heavy rain continues to affect the country.

Many areas are flooded in the western division.

Senior Weather Forecaster, Misaele Funaki says the heavy rain and flooding is being caused by the second Tropical Disturbance affecting Fiji.

There is a flood warning for Rewa River, Rakiraki Town, Wailotua, Ba River, Sigatoka River, Nadi River, Nadi Town, Wainimala River, Mulomulo and Semo River.

A heavy rain and a strong wind warning remains in force for the whole of Fiji.

The tropical disturbance which was located 120 kilometres south‑southwest of Nadi is weakening and is moving south‑east at 20 kilometres per hour.

Looking at the third system heading our way - the system is now a Category 2 cyclone and has been named Tropical Cyclone Zena.

A Category 2 cyclone can cause minor house damage, significant damage to signs and trees, heavy damage to some crops.

There is a risk of power failure.

Small crafts may break moorings.

A Category 2 cyclone's strongest winds are destructive winds with typical gusts over open flat land of 125 to 164 kilometres per hour.

The Nadi Weather office says Tropical Cyclone Zena is located near Vanuatu.

Cyclone Zena is moving east‑southeast at 28 kilometres per hour.

A gale warning is now in force for the Mamanuca group, Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.

On this track, the cyclone is expected to be located 640 kilometres west of Nadi at midday today.
