The recent heavy downpour over the last few days has caused floods in some areas around Fiji and Ba was one of the areas that was heavily affected but it failed dampen the spirits of the AJ Patel Ba River Youth rugby team as they prepare for the McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s this week.

Ba River Rugby Club Manager Gabby Ramoce says the heavy downpour had resulted in areas of Ba flooded including the school grounds they usually train in but their players are determined and focused on the task ahead of them.

Ramoce says flooding is not something new for them as some of their players had to walk across flooded roads and rivers to get to training.

The Ba River Rugby club has produced some of Fiji’s top rugby players such as Pio Tuwai, Filipo Nakosi, Josua Tuisova and current national 7s captain Waisea Nacuqu.

The AJ Pallets Ba River is in pool C with Aussie Youth, First Light Taveuni and Tuburua.

The Coral Coast 7s will be held from this Thursday to Saturday at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
