A five year old boy has died in a house fire in Simla Lautoka earlier this afternoon.
Police Media Liason Officer, Atunaisa Sokomuri confirms the house which is situated in Malamala street caught fire at around 3.30 this afternoon.
Malamala street resident, Ashely McGoon confirmed to Legend FM news that the boy was with his grandmother when the fire started.
She confirms that the six bedroom home was completely destroyed.
The National Fire Authority said they could have saved the life of the five year old boy who died in a house fire in Simla Lautoka, if they would have been alerted of the fire earlier.
Divisional Fire Authority Western, John Pillay said they received the fire alert call from Police which was already late.
Pillay said when they reached the scene it was still unclear if someone was inside the house.
