First ever classroom to be opened at CWM Hospital Children’s ward
The Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama will open the first ever classroom at the Children’s Ward at CWM Hospital today.

It will be history in the making for the health sector in Fiji as it will cater for children who are admitted for weeks or months.

Prior to this, the children admitted for sicknesses or injuries had to miss out on school work and some even had to re-sit their classes when they returned to school as it was too late for them to finish off their school year.-

Paediatric Nurse, Luisa Tamani who is responsible for the project said they will have a qualified teacher from the Education Ministry and classes will commence from January 2012 when the new school year begins.

Tamani said they decided to have this after they noticed a class 8 student crying because he could not sit for his final exams.
