Fiji wins series title after thumping SA
Savenaca Rawaca runs towards the try line in the cup quarters of the London 7's

The Vodafone Fiji 7’s team has won the HSBC World Sevens Series title for the second time in history after thumping rivals South Africa 19‑7 in the first cup quarter finals of the England 7’s.

This is Fiji's second World Sevens Series title after 10 years.

The national side was in control of the game with their outstanding defense throughout the match.

Fiji brought the pressure right back on themselves early in the second seven minutes after their kick off didn’t go 10 metres.

A try from Savenaca Rawaca and Captain Osea Kolinisau gave them the lead 12‑0 at half time.

Rawaca then collected a pass from Kolinisau to give Ben Ryan's men a twelve point lead with two minutes remaining.

Fiji will now face Australia in the cup semifinals at 1.18am tomorrow while USA will take on tournament host England in the second semi's.

The cup final is at 4.27am tomorrow.

Meanwhile Coach Ben Ryan and the players were emotional after their win against South Africa.

Ryan adds that they have worked really hard to have what they have achieved.

He says that they will now focus on Australia and try to win the England 7s.
