The Vodafone Flying Fijians have finished on a high note in their Rugby World Cup last pool game after thrashing Uruguay 47-15.

Fiji was leading 26-10 at half time.

Fiji was awarded a penalty try in the third minute after Uruguay’s halfback, Agustin Ormaechea shoulder-charged Lepani Botia on the tryline.

Nemia Kenatale scored Fiji’s second try from a scrum just 5 metres from Uruguay’s tryline.

Fiji’s third five pointer was again from a penalty try.

Fiji’s scrum dominated throughout the first half which gave them a lot of penalties and a try.

The fourth try was scored by lanky forward, Leone Nakarawa from a Nemani Nadolo counter attack.

Uruguay’s try came from their hooker, Carlos Arboleya after a well-executed move by them.

The Fijian defence was scattered which resulted in Uruguay’s first try since the 2003 World Cup.

The tries in the second half came in from Tevita Cavubati, Kini Murimurivalu and Nemani Nadolo.

The team will be arriving at the Nadi Airport at 8.30am this Friday. The overseas based players will be flying straight back to their homes from England while the local based and coaches with team management will arrive at the Nadi Airport.
