Fiji men’s 7s team out of cup contention in Dubai while Fijiana 7s to face Australia in cup quarter final

The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7’s team is out of the cup competition in Dubai.

Fiji defeated Uruguay in their first pool match 52-0 and later lost to New Zealand in their second pool match 24-7 and beat Argentina 17-12 in their last pool match.

Fiji, New Zealand and Argentina all finished on seven points, but Fiji missed out on points difference.

Fiji will play Uganda at 5pm this afternoon in the 9th place play-off quarter-final.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7’s team has qualified for the cup quarter-final as the third-best team from their pool.

They beat Japan 34-14 in the first pool match, they lost to Spain 14-21 and later lost to Ireland 17-24.

Fijiana will play Australia in the cup quarter-final at 6.06pm this evening.
