Fiji Women’s U15 bundled out of competition after 75-74 loss to New Caledonia

The Fiji Men’s Basketball U15 side claimed their second win in the FIBA Oceania Basketball Cup after beating the Cook Islands 88-76 yesterday.

Fiji took out 3 of the 4 quarters of the match edging the Cook Islands 24-22 in the first quarter, 25-14 in the second quarter and 22-21 in the 3rd quarter.

The Cook Islands managed to scoop the last quarter 19-17.

Fiji’s Kalae Kenny played an instrumental role in the win as he scored 36 points in 34 minutes.

Kenny also managed to make 4 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals and scored 36 points in efficiency.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Women’s Basketball U15 has been bundled out of the competition after falling to their second defeat of the tournament following a close 75-74 loss to New Caledonia.

Fiji won 3 of the 4 quarters but the difference was made in the 3rdquarter as New Caledonia scored a huge difference that helped them secure the win.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Men will take on Samoa at 8.30 tonight in their third pool match.
