Fiji Men’s 7s settle for 9th place after 21-12 win over Spain

The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side has settled for 9th place at the HSBC Singapore 7s after beating Spain 21-12 this afternoon. Spain scored two back-to-back tries in the 3rd and 4th minute with one conversion to lead 12-0. Fiji regrouped in the second spell to come back and score three converted tries through Kaminieli Rasaku, Viliame Naikausa and Iowane Teba and also kept Spain scoreless in the second half.

Fiji has yet to win a tournament since the 2022 Singapore 7s.

Their tournament losing streak now extends to 21 tournaments.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side lost to the NZ Women’s side 33-22 in the first women’s cup semi final.
