FSY Fiji Look Unto Christ Conference to look into issues like drugs, alcohol, teenage pregnancy, and smoking

With 29 days remaining for the For the Strength of Youth (FSY) Fiji 2025 – Look Unto Christ Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, young single adults (ages 18–35) from across Fiji are coming together for inclusive training sessions in the Suva, Nausori, and Nadi stakes to prepare for their leadership roles.

The training is led by Nausori Stake First Counselor Navitalai Naivedru, who is addressing social issues that many youths face, such as drugs, alcohol, teenage pregnancy, and smoking.

Speaking to fijivillage News, Naivedru says the session in Nadi — attended by 23 young single adults from the Lautoka Stake — includes participants from Sigatoka to Tavua, all of whom are training to serve as counsellors and assistant coordinators during the upcoming FSY Conference.

He says these YSAs play a vital role in guiding the youth through spiritual workshops, activities, and discussions, with the ultimate goal of strengthening their faith in Jesus Christ and His restored gospel.

Naivedru says the FSY Conference is designed to empower youth and young adults to navigate the challenges they face in today’s world — from social pressure to personal struggles.

Naivedru says the youth are the future leaders of the Church, communities, and families, and the FSY program is not just about providing fun activities — it’s about building a foundation of faith in Jesus Christ.

He says they want to help YSAs grow in their spiritual understanding and leadership skills so they can guide others in overcoming the challenges the world presents.

The FSY Conference is set to be held next month, from the 8th to the 20th, at Church College Fiji in Tamavua, Suva.
