The Fiji Rugby Union will be re-looking at the systems and protocols for women’s rugby competitions following the death of a 19-year-old female rugby player in Nadroga last week.

FRU Chairman, Commodore Humphrey Tawake has passed his condolences to the family of the late Monika Koroidrekelevu who had allegedly sustained a spinal injury from a rugby match played in June.

Commodore Tawake says they cannot say anything at the moment as the matter is with the police.

He confirms that there is no insurance cover for players competing in the Skipper and Marama competitions.
