The FMF Suva Rugby side has been crowned the new Skipper Cup Champions 2023 after defeating defending champions Jacks Nadi 16-3 in the final at the HFC Bank Stadium tonight.

It was a tight contest in the first half of the game as Nadi scored the first and only points in the 1st spell with a penalty to fullback Rafaele Tunidau in the 30th minute to give them a 3-0 lead.

Suva had the chance to equalise but Fiji Airways National 7s halfback Terio Tamani missed the kick for the Capital City side as the game went into the break with Nadi leading 3-0.

It was in the second half that Suva managed to find their flair and was much more disciplined with their defence preventing Nadi from scoring any points in the second spell.

Tamani scored 11 points off his boots with 3 penalty kicks at goal and a conversion with replacement prop Vilikesa Nairau scoring a try for Suva that sealed the win for them.

Meanwhile in the U20s grade, Suva defeated Naitasiri 20-3.
