The Chairman of the Fashion Designers Alliance of Fiji, Michael Mausio, says the fashion industry is the second largest polluter as the Alliance will opt for a sustainably developed industry to reduce wastage.

Mausio says the community aims to change this for Fiji's Fashion Industry.

The Fashion Designers Alliance of Fiji was formed in 2018 primarily to focus on the needs and to develop fashion designers.

The event was to get the designers to network with each other and express themselves freely. He adds the main aim of the FDA is to develop, nurture and grow each designer that is part of the association as it is for every designer.

The Chairman adds that Deputy Prime Minister, Manoa Kamikamica, will also support and assist the arts sector.

Mausio says there has not been recent follow-up after different fashion events to check on the development of designers financially.
