Early morning collision in Koronivia
A car and a three tonne truck collided head on near Koronivia Research station this morning at around 6.

The driver of the car and some passengers from the truck have received injuries and have been taken to Nausori hospital.

Eyewitnesses told Fijivillage News the private car which was coming towards Suva lost control and went in the opposite lane hitting the oncoming truck.

Police believe the driver of the car was drunk.

Investigations continue.

Going into the long weekend Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra reiterates the importance of safety on our roads, not driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and careless driving.

He said those caught driving under the influence of alcohol or failing a breathalyzer test will stay in custody, without bail, until the next available court seating.
