The General Secretary of the Nationalist Vanua Tako Lavo Party Iliesa Duvuloco and five others have been taken into police custody for allegedly distributing pamphlets that breach the Public Emergency Regulation (PER).
Police Director Operations Waisea Tabakau said Duvuloco and three others are being held in custody in Suva and two people are being held in the western division in relation to similar activities.
Tabakau said anyone plotting against the government and planning to cause instability will be taken to task and they will decide soon on whether charges should be laid against the six men.
Tabakau confirmed that the pamphlets to allegedly cause instability were mainly distributed in the rural areas.
