Some village heads from Kadavu have raised concerns that people are now stuffing drugs inside the bellies of fish and smuggling them to Suva and other areas around Fiji.

Village headman Anare Viribai says the Police Dog units stationed in most port entries are doing a great job in terms of trying to stop the transportation of these drugs and hopes they will also check the fish that are taken on board.

Viribai says they are using all options to kill the drug trade in Kadavu, to save the future generation of children in the province.

He says Kadavu is a well-known province for drugs, and they are working with relevant authorities to help eradicate this problem.

Viribai says they are happy with the Police presence in the province and they will continue to work with the relevant authorities to help save the future of their children.
