Dreketi electrification project to be commissioned by end of this year

The Dreketi electrification project for 12 settlements in the Northern Division which is undertaken by the Fiji Electricity Authority will be commissioned by the end of this year.

District Superintendent North, Niranjan Sharma said six of these projects will be commissioned by 30th of this month while the other five settlements will have electricity by 31st of December.

Sharma added that they hope to complete a major electrification project to supply electricity to the Dreketi Rewa Rice Irrigation Mill.

He said it is a major project and they are hoping to complete it by the end of April next year.

Sharma highlights the construction of 33KV high voltage line from Cawaira Power Station in Labasa to Dreketi has provided great relief to the people and they hope to complete their projects to supply better service to the people.
