24-year-old New Zealand based soccer player, Grace Jale, who has links to Fiji says it is truly a dream come true as well as an opportunity of a lifetime to play for the Football Ferns at the FIFA Women’s Soccer World Cup.

Jale who was born and raised in Auckland to a Fijian father and New Zealand mother says playing for the Football Ferns at the FIFA Women’s Soccer World Cup is something that she has always dreamt of and now she’s living her dream.

In her Instagram account, Jale posted that she is just trying to make that 8-year-old version of herself proud.

Jale was on the bench for the Football Ferns last night when they beat Norway 1-0 in their first pool match.

Meanwhile, it was an emotional victory for the NZ Women’s Soccer team following the deadly shooting in Auckland that had cast a shadow over what was supposed to be a day of celebration.

In another match last night, Australia beat the Republic of Ireland 1-0.
