The Public Service Commission has decided that disciplinary charges will be laid against doctors of CWM Hospital who were involved in 5-year-old Shavneet Kumar's case before he died last year.
Speaking to Fijivillage this afternoon Chairman Rishi Ram said PSC reached its decision after two days of carefully considering all reports into Shavneet's death.
Permanent Secretary for Health Dr. Lepani Waqatakirewa who was also part of the PSC meeting confirms that they will await the formal notification of the PSC's directive before a decisions is made on whether the doctors implicated in Shavneet's case are to be suspended pending the investigations.
Shavneet Kumar had a broken arm and had an operation at CWM hospital last year who died after being in coma for about eight days.
