DPP ends prosecution against man who threatened to kill

The Director of Public Prosecutions has today filed an application in the Suva High Court to end the prosecution case against Ashween Lal accused of swinging a cane knife towards Shayal Prasad and threatening to kill her.

Lal was charged with a count of intending to cause grievous harm and criminal intimidation.

The alleged incidents took place on the 26th of September in Nasinu last year.

The maximum sentence for criminal intimidation is life imprisonment.
