Crusaders names strong line-up for season-opener against Chiefs

Defending Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific champions Crusaders have named a strong line-up to take on the Chiefs this Friday in their season-opener in Christchurch.

Head coach Scott Robertson has also included two debutants that will make an appearance off the bench.

Fijian-born All Blacks players Sevu Reece and George Bower have also been named in the Crusaders’ 23-man match day squad with Reece starting on the left wing and George Bower coming off the bench at prop.

The Chiefs have also named a strong line-up with the likes of Aiden Ross, Samisoni Taukei’aho, Brodie Retallick, Pita Gus Sowakula, Sam Cane, Brad Webber, Damien McKenzie and Anton Lienert-Brown.

The Crusaders vs Chiefs match will kick-off at 6.05pm in Christchurch on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will take on the Moana Pasifika at 3.35pm in Auckland on Saturday.
