The Crusaders and Chiefs squads, plus their management teams, who travelled to Australia recently have been placed in voluntary self-isolation, effective immediately.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced yesterday that anyone who has recently returned from overseas travel in the last 14 days, should enter self-isolation in response to COVID-19.

The Chiefs players and management will be in self-isolation until Sunday. They travelled to Sydney to take on the Waratahs on March 7th and have since lost to the Hurricanes last Friday.

The Crusaders arrived back in New Zealand on Sunday before the midnight deadline that made it mandatory for all travellers to self-isolate for 14 days.

The Crusaders self-isolation deadline will last until Sunday March 29.

Both the Chiefs and the Crusaders warned the public not to be alarmed if they saw players or management out in public as not every member of the teams travelled to the games in Sydney and Brisbane.
