Critical care consumables donated to Health Ministry from USAID

The Health Ministry's fight against COVID-19 has been boosted through the donation of critical care consumables by USAID.

Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, the Permanent Secretary for Health Doctor James Fong, says today is a celebration of building up the capacity in re-strengthening the relationship between the two nations and reorganising a health system in a more resilient way.

He says we have worked as a nation to achieve today's outcome, but it would not have been possible without the continuous support from many international and regional partners and also frontline workers.

Meanwhile, the US Embassy Chargé d'Affaires Tony Greubel highlighted that what the Ministry of Health had done during the COVID-19 period should be an example around the world.

He says He says under trying circumstances Health Ministry officials cared for so many people and conducted vaccinations throughout the country.

Greubel says the US are proud of the partnership built between the two nations to respond to COVID-19.

He adds the critical care supplies being donated today will ensure the ongoing use and sustainability of ventilators.
