Court grants leave to AG to continue contempt proceedings
The Suva High Court has granted leave to the Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum to issue contempt proceedings against the General Secretary of Oceania Football Confederation, Tai Nicholas.

The contempt proceedings arise out of an article published in the Fiji Times.

The article reported Tai Nicholas to be making comments seen by the Attorney General as scandalising the Courts in Fiji and attack on the judiciary thus lowering the authority of the judiciary in Fiji.

The proceedings against Tai Nicholas will be called again in the Suva High Court next Friday.

Similar proceedings have been instituted against the Fiji Times editor, Fred Wesley and its publisher, Brian O'Flaherty.
