Waradi added this is welcoming news for the tourism industry and the economy as a whole.
Meanwhile, V Australia touched down in Nadi yesterday, promising more of everything.
The flight touched down in Nadi with a plane of tourists, Australian media and VIP guests on its inaugural flight, to mark the beginning of its daily services to Fiji.
V Australia Executive General Manager Scott Swift said the Virgin Blue Airline Group has had a long relationship with Fiji.
Yesterday’s inaugural flight marks the beginning of new daily services which will add an additional 181 seats a day between the two cities and will further compliment the current Pacific Blue flights from Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide to Fiji.
