Construction work for proposed $290M casino yet to start
Construction work for the proposed $290 million casino in Denarau is yet to start.

We have been trying to get comments from the developers, One Hundred Sands Limited Chairperson Larry Claunch however we were last told that he is out of reach.

The $290 million casino, convention centre and the five star hotel was scheduled for construction from last year.

Attorney General Aiayz Sayed-Khaiyum earlier told Fijivillage that the delay was due to some issues the developers were facing in relation to financial arrangements and that they have given One Hundred Sands Limited until next month to begin construction.

Sayed-Khaiyum also said that there are certain consequences if the casino development does not meet the construction requirements within the extended time period.
