Serious concerns have been raised regarding children as young as 11 years old roaming around alone at night.

Police say there were two cases involving children who were found roaming around alone at night and when questioned they revealed that they did not have any bus fare to return home.

In one incident, an 11 year old child had traveled from the Western Division to meet his parents but upon reaching Suva he had run out of money to continue with his trip.

The child was found moving around in town alone.

Police say the night operations in the past few weeks have seen the Juvenile Bureau working in partnership with officials from the Ministry of Social Welfare as children were escorted to the Police Station after which their parents and guardians were contacted.
