Concerns over recent number of attempted suicides by students

Police are seriously concerned about the recent number of attempted suicides and suicides in the country.

The latest reports reveal that two of the cases involved students aged 13 while the other student is aged 14 years.

Police say they were all rushed to the CWM hospital last night.

Fijivillage has received confirmation that a 13-year-old student passed away earlier today.

The Fiji Police Force is pleading to parents and guardians to spend quality time with their children and encourage dialogue so they can be forthcoming with issues they may be dealing with personally.

Suicide figures stood at 55 cases while attempted suicide cases stood at 51 as at July this year.
