There continues to be growing concern about people training in the morning in public places and not following the COVID-19 guidelines despite the escalation of cases.

Fijivillage received calls this morning from concerned people that saw teenagers training near Rups Nakasi and Muanikoso in groups with no masks on.

Another caller said he saw two people not wearing masks in Kinoya near World Harvest Centre.

Please call 917 if you notice any such breaches.

Police say they are continuing their COVID-19 awareness by broadcasting messages through their sound system and will continue to take action if there are breaches.

Police officers have been intervening and dispersing crowds of people training and not social distancing or wearing masks at My Suva Park and Suva Point.

Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu says they will continue to monitor these areas to ensure compliance with health measures and ask that people be considerate of others.
