Setting the right target has paid off for Katarina Yava of Namosi Secondary School after claiming gold in the girls' 3000 metres open grade final at the Coca-Cola Suva Zone 1 competition.

The Year 10 student says preparations towards the Zone this year was a bit complicated as she had to balance school work and training at the same time, but she is proud of what she has achieved.

Meanwhile, Namosi Secondary School and MGM High School continue to lead in the boys’ and girls’ division respectively at the Coca-Cola Suva Zone 1.

Namosi leads the boys’ division with 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze, International School Suva is second with 2 gold, while Ratu Sukuna Memorial School has moved up to 3rd place with 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze.

In the girls' division, MGM now has 5 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze, followed by Namosi Secondary School with 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze, while Ratu Sukuna Memorial School is third with 1 gold.
