Cocaine worth over $15M intercepted near Vuda Marina
The $15M worth of cocaine intercepted by Fiji Police and the Australian Federal Police weighing in at 50kg a parcel.

A Fijian and an Australian national are still in custody after they were found with parcels containing cocaine weighing close to 50kg.

More than $15 million worth of cocaine has been intercepted in a joint operation between the Fiji Police Force and the Australian Federal Police with the assistance of the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority in the Western Division.

Police Chief of Intelligence and Investigations, ACP Henry Brown says following weeks of extensive intelligence gathering, the joint operations team closed in on the two suspects near the Vuda Marina where the illicit drugs were seized from the vehicle the two were traveling in.

ACP Brown says further investigations also resulted in the discovery of large amounts of Fijian and Australian currency from one of the suspect’s hotel room.
