A classy first-half performance from the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side helped them secure a 40-15 win over Brazil in their first match of the HSBC Perth 7s this afternoon.

Adi Vani Buleki once again showed her class and pace scoring two tries in the match.

Fiji scored 5 tries in the first half through Buleki, Raijeli Daveua, Reapi Uluinasau and Ana Maria Naimasi with four conversions to lead 33-0 at halftime.

Fiji lacked a bit of concentration in the second half letting Brazil score 3 unconverted tries, two of which resulted from a yellow card to Elenoa Adi Naimata in the 12th minute.

Meredani Qoro put the final nail to the coffin as she scored a converted try at the stroke of full-time to give the Fijiana a winning start to the tournament.

They will play France at 2.22pm tomorrow in their final pool match. The quarter finals will start at 7.26pm tomorrow, the semi finals will kick off at 4.22pm Sunday, and the final will be held at 9.13pm Sunday.
