Chinese community celebrates Lunar New Year in Suva

As the Chinese community in Fiji celebrates the Lunar New Year today, people in Suva City got glimpses of the celebration as the Chinese Youth Social and Cultural Association - Fiji performed lion dances throughout the city.

This is the Year of the Dragon.

The Chinese zodiac cycle has a dragon as the fifth animal sign, and according to the Chinese zodiac, the Year of the Dragon occurs every 12 years.

Celebrations are happening throughout the country, and a celebration is being organised tomorrow at the Yat Sen School Hall.
