Chiefs Reiterates Stand Not to Support Charter
The Heads of the three confederacies have reiterated their stand not to support the draft peoples charter while addressing the 700 plus members at the Annual Methodist Church conference in the last hour.

Speaking on behalf of the three chiefs, the Tui Cakau Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu stressed that the charter downgraded the Fijian administration and also the term Fijian should not be used for all citizens of the country.

He stressed that they want an early election under the current constitution and they will not support any government that will be elected under the draft Peoples Charter.

The Tui Cakau added that the respective Vanua know their role when the NCBBF consultation teams visit them.

Kubuna High Chief, Ratu Apenisa Cakobau, the Roko Tui Dreketi, Ro Teimumu Kepa and the Tui Cakau Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu were present at Centenary church and Outgoing President, Reverand Laisiasa Ratabacaca told the 700 plus members that the 3 high chiefs will be coming in their capacity as the Vanua heads of the 14 provinces in Fiji.
