A request has been made by Ba businessman, Dinesh Prakash Chand to have the Ba Health Centre open on Saturdays to ensure a smoother flow of services.

Chand raised this concern during the Fijian Media Association’s Meet the Public and the Press town hall session held in Ba.

He says that due to the closure of the health centre on the weekends, the Ba Aspen Hospital becomes congested.

Responding to the concern, Acting Senior Divisional Medical Officer, Anusheel Chand said that discussions are ongoing regarding the possibility of operating the Ba Health Centre on Saturdays.

He adds that internal processes are still underway to ensure smooth operations during the weekends and public holidays, especially after Aspen announced that General Outpatient Department services would be limited.
