The Cathay General Hospital of Taiwan has provided $318,000 worth of medical supplies to Labasa Hospital.

Taiwan representative, Joseph Chow says Taiwan has been providing medical assistance to Fiji since 2006 and the medical teams from Cathay General Hospital have visited Fiji multiple times conducting more than 8,000 outpatient services and numerous surgeries since 2014.

Chow says Taiwan has provided Fiji with two infrared thermal imaging cameras, 42,000 surgical masks, 3,000 N95 masks, 3,050 gowns and 500 personal protective clothes since the outbreak of COVID-19.

Chow says Taiwan is planning to donate 60 oxygen generators, some wheelchairs and other assistive devices soon.
