Good news for villagers in the Yasawa and the Mamanuca Groups as the COVID-19 vaccine is available at your medical facilities.

The Head of the Vaccination Taskforce, Doctor Rachel Devi says this is an opportunity for villagers to protect themselves and their loved ones from the effects of COVID-19 such as hospitalization, sickness and death.

She says the vaccines have been brought to the island through the collective effort of the Sea Mercy team, South Sea Cruises, Tourism sector and the Health Ministry team.

Dr Devi says this is a great opportunity for villagers and a rare hope in moving forward.

She is urging villagers to get educated about the vaccine and get protected from this deadly virus.

441,171 adults in Fiji have received their first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine and 97,268 have received their second doses.
