CFL stations dominate radio market again

CFL stations dominate radio market again

Communications Fiji Limited stations, Legend FM, FM96, Viti FM, Navtarang and Radio Sargam continue to dominate the radio market.

The Tebbutt Media Survey 2016 has revealed that 86.5% of radio listeners surveyed listened to one of CFL’s five radio stations over a 7 day period.

This is an increase from the 2014 survey when CFL stations listenership stood at 85.1%.

CFL Managing Director William Parkinson says once again the CFL stations have delivered a massive number, confirming the huge result of the previous year.

Surveys were conducted in March and April 2016 covering the greater Suva area, Nadi and Lautoka, and focused on respondents aged 14 years and older.

Parkinson says it needs to be kept in mind that surveys were limited to urban areas of Viti Levu and this year, because of the cyclone, did not include Ba.

He says this means that vernacular stations Viti FM, Sargam and Navtarang, that have strong rural audiences, are probably under reported.

CFL’s General Manager Ian Jackson says that CFL designs the programming formats of each of our radio stations to service different sections of the community and once again all our stations performed strongly in their respective markets contributing to a great result.

Tebbutt Research is a full service market research agency and is known globally as the South Pacific’s market leader and pioneer of world standard market research practices.

It was established in 1991, and over the last 22 years the research company has completed more than 800 projects across 17 countries.
