A brawl broke out during the Vodafone Cup competition match between rivals Nabua Broncos and Top Line Warriors and according to tournament organizers, Nabua resident Jone Vakarisi was arrested and interviewed.

Fiji National Rugby League has told fijivillage News they are awaiting reports on what transpired between the players on the field.

FNRL says the scuffle on the field was contained however the matter escalated into a brawl when the spectators were involved and the Police were outnumbered.

They say they will await further reports and are questioning the involvement of Vakarisi in today's brawl.

The Suva Magistrates Court had convicted Vakarisi and had acquitted eight others in the Nabua Police assault case in 2018.

He was also convicted in 2022 for assaulting his 18-year-old partner.

Vakarisi has also been previously charged for drug possession.

We have sent questions to Police. They are yet to respond.
