President of the Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji, Sarju Prasad

As Diwali is just a day away, the President of the Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji, Sarju Prasad says the biggest challenge for Fijians is to bring about unity in our diverse society.

Prasad says Fiji has diverse societies with different languages, culture and traditions but despite all these blessings we are somewhat divided.

He has urged parents and teachers to instil human values that Diwali, as well as all other religious festivals, carry in the younger generation.

He says the lights of Diwali should not only illuminate people's homes but their hearts as well and bring people together.

Meanwhile, people are all hyped up for Diwali and believe Diwali is about unity and people should not only talk to their neighbours during Diwali and forget about it other days.
