Better to prepare now rather than risking your life doing last-minute preparations – Koronivia resident

It is better to be prepared in advance rather than risking your life by taking last-minute precautionary measures amid strong winds and heavy rain.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Koronivia resident Apisai Suliano says although they have not felt any strong winds yet, he has already taken precautionary measures and prepared himself for what is to come.

He says he has tied ropes from his rooftop to the ground to prevent strong winds from blowing away the roof and has also covered his windows with roofing iron.

The 43-year-old says he has also prepared solar lights and kerosene lamps as well in case they have a power outage.
