Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama met with the United Nations Secretary‑General Antonio Guterres this morning.

Bainimarama thanked Guterres for inviting a group of youths from the Pacific to be part of this year’s UN Youth Climate Summit ahead of the United Nations General Assembly.

He says this was a clear indication of the United Nation’s commitment towards the Pacific Small Islands Developing States.

Bainimarama says that he was overjoyed that Guterres  had brought so many young people to the climate table.

He added that these young people have brought in freshness and great energy into the climate talks and backed by global network of young people which is what some leaders needed in order to take action.

Bainimarama also assured him of Fiji’s unwavering support towards his work.
